How to be happier at work

Many of us were familiar with the symptoms of being overworked and filling that work is related to stress and anxiety.

Is it important for us to be happy and satisfied at work?

Why some of us don’t take steps to reduce the damage it can induce?

How often do we clean our minds and be patient with our fillings?

How important is to take care of our physical health?

Being busy often relate to success, especially when our business is booming. Then we are ready to jump very high with a million colorful balloons. 

But, we’ve wrongly come to accept that overload is OK because being busy indicates stress. Stress can be helpful and motivate but too much and too prolonged stress can be a downward spiral. But chronic stress can be very damaging.

Stress can be motivating and helpful but no too much and no every day, because chronic stress can be extremely damaging.

Here are five tips to stop feeling busy all the time and to clean your mind:

1. Stop multitasking immediately

Multitasking may seem efficient on the surface, but actually, takes more time in the end and involve more mistakes. Some research shows that shifting between tasks can cost as much as 40% of your productive time.

It’s better to use the 80/20 rule – identify the 20% of your tasks that are really effective and do them one at a time. Another good advice is to always start with the most important task first.

2. Never dive straight into work

Many people do the same thing when they turn off morning alarm and wake up. Guess what? Check their email, missed phone calls. Take a deep breath several times, or do 15 minutes meditation. Also, you can do some Yoga before you start your working day.

Don’t procrastinate yesterday’s challenges and tasks, but throwing yourself into work immediately can harm your long-term productivity. 

3. Eliminate the word „busy“ from your vocabulary

Many kinds of research on the psychological aspects of language use explained that the words you use have more power than you think.

What we say „busy“ we don’t recognize the good things and we don’t fill motivation. When we stop describing our lives as „busy“, we can feel less stress.

4. Timely stress management

It’s very important to have „my time“ to:

  • get a good night’s rest,
  • meditate,
  • go to the gym or
  • take a vacation.

All of the above are the parts of your job and your life and put it on your agenda as well as your job tasks. We are more productive when we work from a happy state of mind.

5. If you’re the manager or boss redundant business isn’t a good business model.

The perception that hard work is the only way to rise in a company keeps employees working themselves into illness. Set priorities for all work so your employees can schedule tasks over a reasonable period of time.

We live in a world where we have more and more to do with less time. We’re less able to stand back and think.

When you don’t allow them time to slow down, you not only risk your health but also your business.

More and more people complain of a sense of meaninglessness in their lives. Also, often they don’t know how to explain that in a few words because it is accompanied by a deep sigh, abstracted views, and incomplete sentences that don’t explain what is going on. Often I notice that this nonsense comes from the fact that people no longer believe that we should try to live better because all is meaningless and doomed to failure. No one expects the desired results and effects.

What are the desired results and effects?

Often the answer is: „To be happy.“

What is happiness to you? No replies.

People often don’t know what actually makes them happy, and even less what should be done in order to experience happiness.

Our emotions are our essence

It’s a mistake when we think that happiness in life is constant and that happy people are always happy and have no problems. Often I notice euphoria and excitement in people, but it looks like these emotions just flashed and quickly extinguished, leaving no trace in them a positive nor sense of true happiness that such flashy moments exist in life and they are privileged to feel them.

Everything is somehow going superficially and no true essence. Perhaps this is due to the aforementioned sense of meaninglessness or it is something else.

Too many people dealing with logic and tactics, and the lack of emotional part of your and other people’s personalities. My opinion is that emotions are our essence, our driver.

When we learn to recognize our emotions, we will know how to react and behave in accordance with them.

No one can live our lives

When we lose someone who has been part of our lives and with us almost every day, that is sensed sadness, fear, suffering, disappointment.

Against such emotions cannot be fought, they are an integral part of our lives and without them, we would not know what we’re truly happy moments. It takes the time to come up with the sad facts and it should not be to suppress.

It‘ll come a time when we all let go and actually feel the blessing that we were lucky that one person as the one we lost is part of our lives. Did I mention the word luck? Sure. From the greatest sorrow and pain, cognition is true joy and happiness.

To be emotionally mature need to accept yourself and to love ourselves. Only the love of self and introduce itself can make us emotionally mature. When we start to love and accept ourselves, we will not heed to others’ opinions and comments, and criticism of others we accepted as something we should think instead, although it will certainly our final judgment and our decision will be exclusively and in line with us.

No one can live our lives, nor make decisions for us, nor make it more meaningful and beautiful but only we. We should get our life as a gift from their parents. When we know that we were lucky at the very beginning of our lives and it is up to us to make it a nice trip that will be assembled from the ups and downs, but it will bring a lot of happiness and joy to us and to those who around us.

Is it a price if you do not want a new tomorrow comes?
Is it ok to have great business biography but you can’t sleep at night?
Can any business success replace carefree days on vacation, if we are constantly available and never really stop to think about work?

Is all this necessary? Is it your life really yours or you live as you think it is acceptable for other?

What are your wishes?

When I woke up one night and realized it was past midnight, I spoke out loud to my husband who was still awake, „I don’t want tomorrow comes.“ He looked me confused but quickly realized. I experienced burnout and I’m afraid of every new tomorrow. New tomorrow means another working day which means another stress and fear.

In our lives, we know that there are many faculties that are good and recommendable to study because we will probably find a good job. Yes, there are companies and even more famous owners and directors of those companies that are doing well. Apparently, it all leaves a very good impression on your resume, and your career should go upwards. But is it actually completely true?

Never forget your friends from childhood

I had a friend in childhood that I really like, and with her, I spent a wonderful time playing in the park behind our building where we lived. She was always a cheerful and smiling girl.

When we become teenagers, once we talked about what do we want to become when we grow up. I said very seriously about what I want to study, to work in some famous company, to have a high salary. I really believe that money and position in society can offer me a successful and happy life.

My friend listened to me with a beautiful smile on her face. She began to talk about how she wanted to be a saleswoman and if she could choose it will be a perfume shop. She would like to help people to choose the right perfume for them because we are all unique. Also, she would like to have a son to play with him like we were.

I couldn’t believe that she had no ambition to become something more than a seller. That she won’t mind working in shifts, during weekends, with customers who can be rude and arrogant. This work brings no money and what child she averted.

I moved out of the building where I lived with my family and my friend I no longer see. We grew up, became women, each went its own way wishing to get closer to their dreams from childhood.

One smile can change everybody

After many years, I was walking down the street which was very close to the building where I used to live. I went into a shop in the department of fruit and vegetables.

It was evening, the shop should be closed soon, but I still decided to buy a few things and go home, hoping to have a quiet night and a normal sleep after hard working day. In the department of fruit and vegetables stood my friend from childhood. With tired eyes and the most beautiful smile in the world, she asked me how she can help me. I was watching her for a few seconds. Her uniform was cramped and worn out. Her tired face eagerly breaks and she was moving with her feet on the legs because she had pain in the knee of long-standing but even her face was joyous.

She told me that the company working badly, but she was happy because the job in sales is for her the most beautiful job in the world. Also, She told me that her salary is too small, but she is happy because her son is a good kid, and who loves to play with her in the park where we were used to playing.

Her husband left her, but she knows he’s a good man and she was lucky to meet him and live with him for a while. I was completely broken when she told me that she is sure that I graduated and worked in a successful company. She never doubted that I will succeed in life.

I was trying to say something but I couldn’t. None of my „success“ couldn’t be compared with what her life because that is true happiness, peace and joy of life to every new day with the most beautiful smile in the world.

From that moment I decide to change everything and start my new life.
